Elize Jordaan-Wenhold was born and raised on a farm near Polokwane, Limpopo, South Africa, where nature, wild animals, and the bushveld always felt like home. She was privileged to acquire a property in this exclusive Private Estate. Throughout most of her career, Elize worked in various roles at corporate firms, including Finance, Portfolio Management, Sales, and Marketing. In 2019, she decided to take the next step in her professional journey by venturing into entrepreneurship. Over the years, she established multiple businesses and initiated various projects, accumulating 20 years of valuable experience in her diverse fields.

In August 2023, she was appointed as the Trustee for Sales & Marketing. Elize is dedicated to promoting and selling this new, upcoming, and exclusive Private Estate. At the helm of FJ Joubert Farming, he has spearheaded a dynamic enterprise that specializes in the farming of game, crops, and cattle.

It was a Sunday afternoon when me, my wife, Elize, and our three sons drove past the advertisement.

On a piece of cardboard, attached to the farm fence, written in large, black letters: Stands for sale.

As city dwellers, with no farm to inherit from either side of the family, any form of farm life was not a realistic expectation.

The desire for a quieter life in nature, with soil underfoot and fresh air, began with the boys. And on that Sunday afternoon, we woke Franco from his nap so he could show us Weiter Raum.

From then on, we breathed, prayed, and dreamed of the farm, and by 2007 we were living in a rental house across from Weiter Raum, excited about our own house under construction.

My life suddenly fell into two categories: the bustling Sandton life versus the farm life with my family.

The boys could keep horses, continue the family tradition of hunting with dad and grandpa, sleep outside with friends, and play clay-lat.

My love for photography grew exponentially, and the wide-open spaces around me, the animals, and the birds had everything to do with it.

My wife had always been fond of hiking, and I was an avid cyclist. Even now that the nest is empty and we are in our sixties, we still pursue our passions.

Our sons are now rugged men with soft hearts full of unique childhood memories. Inseparably part of the family and friends' history are the many gatherings and annual Christmas celebrations held here.

I served as the Chairman of Weiter Raum for 14 years and have recently been re-elected to this position. My willingness to fit it into my very busy life between Sandton and the farm has everything to do with my love for Weiter Raum.
